You may be confused at which skip size to pick when it comes to DIY projects if you're not a professional contractor or tradesman. We made this page to show the different sizes of skips and advise you on which one is best.
Read through our list of different size skips available and what they are commonly used for, to help figure out which is best for your project.
This is a very compact skip size and is only used for smaller DIY projects such as light decorating. If you've got a few odd jobs that need doing and don't want to make trips to your local recycling centre, then get a skip this size.
This skip size is still only used for light removals or small DIY projects. You can also use this sized skip to get rid of any hardcore waste you have lying around, such as concrete or rubble.
If you are looking for a skip for a moderate house clearance (including a garage and attic), this is a good skip size. This is also often used by professional contractors for building work.
This size is used by builders. It is favoured because it can fit quite a lot of waste and can handle the rubbish created by bigger renovaiton projects. If you're looking to renovate and think it will produce quite a bit of waste, then look into getting a skip this size.
If you're taking on a large DIY or building project you may only look into the largest skips available. However, it is often wise to split the goods to lessen the weight and make the removal process easier. Get a few skips this size to do this and keep the weight manageable.
Larger projects such as full-house waste removal will often call for a skip with size. This skip size can handle goods removed from your whole house, including your attic and garage. Not only that, the size means you will be able to fit in most long and large items too.
Large renovations for very big properties will require one of the biggest skip sizes. It can work for building projects, renovations and DIY as well as commercial clearing of workspaces.
This hefty-sized skip is only used for jobs that are incredibly large and will produce a lot of waste (make sure you don't put too many heavy objects in there).
